I started this thread to get an idea of what Fan Films that are out there that y'all like. Shatir has done one and I think we've all seen VaderPainter in a few. Does anyone else out there have some acting talent for a fan film, experience in one, or just list your favorites.

I've listed a few of my favorites below. I've tried to include the links as well for your viewing pleasure.

1. Ryan vs Dorkman: This is a great example of good rotoscoping and pretty good action. I like this film a lot. The acting could use some work, but hey, this is Star Wars man. Lightsaber fights rule.

2. Art of the Saber: A very different look at a good lightsaber fight. I found this a while back and really liked it. The music, the stunts, the fighting, and the overall focus on the skill of the blade are rather addicting to me. Couple of technical problems, but overall, a good film. Bravo to the Ho's for some good work here.

3. American Jedi: Just an overall funny movie. I liked it, don't really know why. Check it out. If you liked the American Pie series, you should find a few funny chuckles in this one as well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6CMTI2L6uk

4. Duality: One of the best pure Fan Films out there. I enjoyed it greatly and have watched it a hundred times. I would say that the little pokes of humor add to this one. The action is great too along with the effects. Good work knods to the director.

5. Troops: The classic first Fan Film. I loved this thing. Great flick. Great time. Check it out if you never have.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gO6rqAJ3mGc

I've enjoyed watching all of these. Now, I know some folks like Revelations, Sins of the Jedi, and KnightQuest. I liked them too. These are just a few of my favorites listed above. Come on gang, what are your favorite fan films?

Sincerely,

Lord Movado

search for hardware wars: parody using drills, vacuumcleaners and so on, all on film camera, made in 1978 and absolutely funny.
I gound "somewhere" the "Hardware wars - special edition" with some CGI scenes added, but the bulk of the movie is still 70's.

Also "Lucas in Love" worth a look, if you can find it.

I must say that I have just finished screening the first chapter of this fan film and I am thoroughly iimpressed. "Tree Dodger..." best line in the whole movie. Smile Can't wait until the next chapter comes out.

I think the Pink Five films are some of the best fan films out there. I love how they fit the character into Episodes IV-VI and they're hilarious. I wish I could get these on DVD.

Contract of Evil and Duality are 2 of my favorites. Art of the Saber rocks in the martial prowess exhibited, altough I have a couple of problems with some of the technicalities (if you stick a lightsabre into the ground and let go, it should sink...)

Troops is my favorite. Cool

I am going to help wrtie a Fan Film being filmed in Spain in the future. It is a pretty cool story, and I got one of the characters named after me. My name will be in the credits too. Cool So far we have gotten some names created, and the some scenes made up. The script is going to be done in a month or so. We still haven't thought of a title yet, it is harder than I thought. Embarassed But oh, I am just so excited I got this chance!

Thinking of a title is hard indeed. My friend Matt (who plays Darth Malicious in our fanfilm) suggested Enter the Malicious, thinking along the lines of Enter the Dragon. Needless to say, he got what was coming. Warning, Darth Malicious speaks says an anagram of S-I-T-H a couple of times.

I remember watching Ryan Wieber and Dorkman go at it in their now internet famous battle. It was pretty cool. I also remember this lightsaber battle when it wasn't even rotoscoped and it won the lightsaber contest that was put on about 2 years ago. I'm glad to see it finally finished out. Though some parts are kind of cheesy with the hitting and action sequences (can we please lose the slow motion guys), I still find it pretty amazing that we can now accomplish this with a home computer system. I've posted this here for those who want to take a look.

It is a director on a Green Screen entry for the contest.

I'm not sure, but I suppose to have seen this guy somewhere before...

There are too many fanfics i like to list them here. If anyone is interested in doing one let me know. I've always wanted to do one, and am actually a fair actor. Used to do a lil bit in high school, and every once in awhile I come up with something small. I wrote the Star Wars piece that we used earlier this year at my school's banquet (not to mention starred in it with Jedibrain and some others).
